At Epperson’s Custom Jewelers, jewelry is more than just a profession:
And we are excited to share that passion with you. Here are some of our favorite pieces we have created, so please scroll through and enjoy the stories.
The expression “everything old is new again” certainly holds true for this necklace. While monogram and name necklaces are so popular right now, we actually made this diamond and pearl version in the late 1980’s. We still often make this type of piece and love how personal and timeless they are to the wearer.
Our customer wanted something inspired by nature, but not too organic or too fussy. We ended up with this botanical beauty! We chose yellow diamonds to accentuate the center diamond and a diamond garland on the shank of the ring.
One of the sweetest and most sentimental gifts that a bride can receive is a diamond belonging to the groom’s mother or grandmother. That was just the case with this lovely engagement ring and wedding band. Three generations of this family have been Epperson’s customers. We are honored by this and think there is no finer compliment.
Larry Epperson used this incredible piece of carved jade to act as both centerpiece and clasp on this amazing necklace. The multi-strand freshwater pearls complete the look making it quite the showpiece.
The focal point of this cigar band is a gorgeous pear shaped diamond accompanied by six baguette diamonds. All of these were originally set in a ring belonging to our lovely customer’s mother. That ring, while sentimental, just wasn’t her taste. Together, we worked to create a piece that is much more suited to her style.
This crowned bird ring, from our Ella collection, was customized by adding a cabochon ruby.
This 10 year anniversary gift was truly a labor of love. Larry Epperson searched for several years to find just the perfect emerald to suit our dear customers. While they were in no hurry, they were interested in finding the perfect stone to represent a lifetime of love, and worthy of becoming a family heirloom. Two trillion shaped diamonds were added to accompany the gorgeous emerald.
The wide “X” pattern diamond band was the first of this trio that we made to celebrate a dear customer’s birthday. Her sweet husband then decided to make it a set. Together, we designed this add-a-diamond bracelet. He added diamonds for the next several holidays until this stunner was complete. Lastly, we used the link design to make a lovely pair of earrings. What a wonderful gift giver!
This stunning cigar band was made with a collection of the customer’s “family” diamonds and gold. So often, when making a custom piece, we are able to utilize what diamonds, gemstones, and/or gold that the customer already has. This contributes to the sentimental value, especially as the piece may be passed from generation to generation.
This rose gold circle necklace boasts three small blossoms. Each blossom representing one of the wearer’s three children.
Upon their 18th birthday, each young man in this family receives a pair of monogrammed sterling silver cuff links. What a wonderful tradition!
This Edwardian inspired ring was created using diamonds belonging to our customers maternal and paternal grandmothers. One of those grandmothers worked with Larry Epperson in the early 1970’s when he first started working in the jewelry business. We loved being a part of this special project. The intricate lace design and milgrain beading are the features most commonly identified with Edwardian style, dating from 1901-1914.
This nautical inspired wedding band was created for a handsome sailor groom.
While the Babylonians were the first to adorn bracelets with unique charms, Queen Victoria further set the trend in the 1800’s. Her bracelet had tiny family portrait charms and lockets, as well as a lock of Prince Albert’s hair. Here in the United States, charm bracelets became fashionable in the 1940’s after World War II. Charms were made from trinkets that the soldiers brought home from cities that they helped to liberate. Charm bracelets continue to be popular gifts for young girls and brides as they can be added to celebrating life’s milestones. Antique and vintage completed bracelets are also quite collectible.
Our own Ellen Epperson Wiberley designed this ring featuring the ruby given to her by her husband celebrating the birth of their first child. Their daughter was born in July. Ruby is the traditional gemstone for that month.
We loved creating this nature inspired engagement ring and band for a dear friend. The twig design and splash of color from the yellow sapphires are perfectly suited for her artistic and natural style.
Our precious customer became captivated by emeralds while on vacation in Columbia. The world’s finest and most brilliant emeralds come from Columbia.
